Notion doesn’t let you password protect a Page out of the box, but there is an interesting aftermarket solution that’ll let you lock them down. It does have its limitations though, and it isn’t free, so it won’t be for everyone, but if you’re desperate to make a Page more secure before sharing it around, it’s the best workaround.
Priced at $10 per month for one Page after a one-week free trial, Cloakist is a white-labeling solution that lets you use a custom domain with Notion, at the same time putting it behind a password if you choose to. You can upgrade to a Pro subscription to secure your entire Workspace from $25 per month.
Here’s the catch: Because this isn’t an official feature and it isn’t something Notion is supporting, it isn’t without its faults with the main being that Cloaklist doesn’t replace your Notion domain. Instead, it appears to act as a container for the Page, loading it within the domain instead of revealing it to the masses for unsolicited access.
This means is that the Page itself is still accessible from the sharable URL needed to create the password-protected version in Cloaklist, so if someone can access this through your Workspace or you’ve shared it with someone, they’ll still be able to view the Page. This shouldn’t be an issue for most, but it’s worth being aware of.
